Lancia Ypsilon Versus Edition revealed



Being in strong connection with the fashion industry, Lancia opened a partnership with Versace Group to produce the new Lancia Ypsilon VERSUS. The original show car is designed especially for a young and styled public and will be revealed at the 2008 International Paris Motor Show. The new model will be produced in a 500 units limited edition and will hit the market starting with 2009.



Fiat 500 by Diesel


Fiat 500 revealed a special edition of the little Italian automobile made in cooperation with Renzo Rosso brand, dubbed the Fiat 500 by DIESEL. Although the car is already for sale the 10,000 pieces limited edition will be out of production no sooner than 2010. Inspired by the sport version of the car, the new model will be available with 3 engines: the 1.2 with 69 bhp, the 1.3 Multijet 75 bhp with DPF and the 1.4 16v 100 bhp. The car will feature green paint finish, 16inch alloy wheels signed by DIESEL, yellow brake calipers and five rear airs inlets. The price varies between 15,000 and 17,000 Euros, depending on the engine chosen.



Bmw 5-Series Security breaks cover


After the Bmw X5 Security, the German manufacturer considered that a version of the 5-Series is needed and unveiled today the Bmw 5-Series Security. The new vehicle provides an impressively striking and prestigious design, supreme handling, generous space and uncompromising premium quality and features two engines: a 4.8- liter 8-cylinder engine delivering 367 bhp and 490 Nm of torque and a 3.0 liter inline 6-cylinder engine with a magnesium-aluminum compound crankcase which has an output of 272 bhp while the maximum torque achieved is 315 Nm.

According to the manufacturer: “The Bmw 5 Series Security can resist to attacks with impact weapons as well as hand weapons and handguns up to a caliber of .44 Magnum including .357 Magnum or 9 mm Luger. The appropriate certification is provided by the German ballistic authority Beschussamt Mellrichstadt based on the norm for bullet-resistant vehicles, BRV 1999. At the request of BMW, the ballistic testing goes far beyond the usual requirements. In addition to the stipulated firing angles of 90° and 45°, the tests include other firing angles in order to make them more realistic, with the relevant certification being provided.”



Spyker unveils C8 Laviolette LM85 Limited Edition


Spyker, the Dutch manufacturer, unveiled today its new Laviolette LM85. Based on the GT2 LeMans car, the new Spyker C8 Laviolette LM85 will be built in a limited edition of just 24 units. Each unit will be powered by an Audi-based V8 engine delivering 400 hp and fitted with a manual six-speed Getrag gearbox, driving the rear wheels with a Drexler limited slip differential. The exterior will include a Burnt Almond Orange color with Gun Metal ‘S’ logo, a new aluminium chassis, side mirrors in body color, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and GT2 windscreen streamer. The interior will feature an ample use of black leather and alcantara which is originally meant to reduce light reflection during racing. More details after the jump!



Ford announces already 1,000 orders for the new Focus RS


The Ford Focus RS marks a welcome return for the Rallye Sport badge and although the manufacturer didn’t release any data about the colors available or the accesories available for the vehicle, 1000 customers orders have already been placed at the Ford dealers. According to the manufacturer 40% of the applicants requested the unique Electric Green shade of the London Show vehicle.



Vw releases Golf VI Collectors Edition


Volkswagen is getting to the next level of upgrade with their new equipment lines- Trendline, Comfortline and Highline. It seems there is also another version, Collectors Edition, unofficial though, since it’s not included in any brochure or price list. This last edition concept car is more special due to its color, a very dark blue which was also used for the radiator grille, generally painted in black. The car features new 18-inch “Vancouver” alloy wheels which can get also a high-gloss polish. The Collectors Edition is the first Golf to receive natural leather in the interior( the seats, center armrest and door inserts). Decorative accents were added in high-gloss piano lacquer to suit to the black trim.



Paris Motor Show: Citroen C3 Pluriel Charleston


The Citroen Pluriel is already a funny car to drive, but it seems that the French manufacturer is preparing a new edition of the vehicle called the The Charleston. This new edition will be unveiled next month, at the Paris Motor Show and will feature the reinterpretation of a design theme that once decorated Citroën’s famous 2CV - a stylistic nod to one of the most iconic cars in history, which this year celebrates its 60th birthday. The Citroen C3 Pluriel Charleston will definitely get the attention of the 2CV fans due to the its bold two-tone colour scheme of black and Bordeaux red. Also the vehicle will feature premium touches throughout such as gloss-black fittings, leather upholstery and chrome trim and stylish 15” aluminium wheels featuring red embellisher.

Lotus unveils Clark Type 25 Elise SC Limited Edition


Jim Clark is considered by many as the finest and most naturally gifted racing driver of all time. He won the F1 World Championship twice for Team Lotus in 1963 and in 1965. In total, he won 25 Grand Prix races and was the first Briton to win the Indianapolis 500. Clark won a third of all the F1 races he entered, as well as racing in other formulae such as F2, F3 and Touring Cars. Typically he would race in as many as three different categories per race meeting! How many of the current crop of F1 drivers would do that?
